FAQ
How working with ServUp works: payment, timing, guarantees. Technical questions are in the Knowledge Base.
First you describe your task in a request, and we estimate the time and donation amount. Once we agree on the amount, 50% is paid upfront - this confirms both sides are serious, and we get started. The remaining 50% is due after the work is done and you're happy with it.
Usually between 1 hour and two days - it depends on the complexity of the task and how busy we are at the time.
No. The timeline and price estimate are free and non-binding. If you decide not to continue, that's fine - you owe nothing.
In practice this almost never happens: at every stage we check in and show you intermediate progress before moving forward, rather than delivering everything at once at the end. By final testing, everything important has already been agreed on - that's why no client has ever been unhappy with the result.
We build and test every server ourselves before handover, so the setup itself rarely causes issues. There's one exception outside anyone's control: sometimes Valve ships a CS2 update that breaks plugin compatibility - that's a game-side bug, not a setup mistake. Updating those plugins is a small separate paid fix, not a free warranty repair.
Donations are non-refundable by default - that's covered in the project's support terms. The exception is a technical payment error (e.g. a duplicate charge): those cases are reviewed individually through tickets.
Support termsNot necessarily. We don't sell hosting ourselves, but we'll point you to what to get and where - game hosting, web hosting, DDoS protection. We've worked with orders from different countries, so we know reliable options for different budgets and needs.
It's not free, and it's not pure charity either - it's help in exchange for a voluntary donation, an amount you agree on upfront, before work starts. There's just no fixed price list with an agency markup.
We work openly: contact details and legal information are listed in the Impressum, as required by German law. Real project examples are in the Portfolio.
